Solo

Sometimes a person just needs to get away for a second. Take a break from the grindstone of reality to enjoy a brief moment of self time. For me, that self time involves the feel of a fly line sliding through my fingers after a well executed double haul. I feel alive within the unforgiving bite of the cold, and I am hopelessly addicted to the grab of a big Lahontan trout. Standing upon that ladder in the midst of beautiful nothingness is the definition of serenity for me.

The fishing was good this day, and from here forward it will serve to blast wide open.

Cold

As I suspected.... did not take long

Nice hen.....

I watched them feeding on midges just feet from my ladder, and lost three more before I scored this buck on my own motor oil tie. I used peacock herl for the tail....they cant resist it.

Then I landed an even bigger one on the very next cast on the same tadpole. There is nothing more gratifying then to conquer a fish on a fly you tied yourself.

Sunrise at the Great Mother Pyramid will change your life.
If it doesnt stir something within you, you need your pulse checked.

Cause im a country boy, I got a four wheel drive, climb in my bed, ill take you for a ride....up city streets, down country roads, I can get you where you need to go....cause im a country boy.

Lunch time.

Met, and struck up some conversation with this great ol' boy. Says he has been fishing the lake for over forty years. He's retired now....just wants to fish. I say it does not suck to be him...what a life.

He said; "There's no other place quite like this place." I agree with you brother...I really do.

He produced a big jug of E&J brandy and says; "You want a pull youngin?" "No sir", I say....dont drink much, but I would love to get some photos of your next fish."

Packed  it up and headed home happy.
